Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What will I learn by taking the training?
A: A lot. You will learn how to: evaluate your current communications and marketing efforts; discover ways to frame the child care issue for key audiences; develop powerful and targeted organizational messages and materials; create effective marketing strategies to promote your CCR&R; and incorporate new approaches into your overall marketing plan.

Q: Will I have a marketing and communications plan at the end of the training?
A: Yes, if you invest the time and effort into completing exercises outside of the training sessions. The sessions and supporting materials will provide you with the resources you need to develop a marketing plan for your CCR&R, but it will require additional work by you and your staff—outside of the sessions—to actually create your plan.

Q: How is the training structured?
A: The webinar training is comprehensive, and goes from June 2008 through December 2008. The series is composed of six 90-minute training sessions, three each in marketing and communications, and two Advanced Executive Sessions, one each in marketing and communications. Additionally, participants will receive a one-hour consultation with NACCRRA’s expert for free advice and counsel. Participants can listen to the trainings from anywhere via telephone, following along by viewing an interactive presentation online. All you need is a telephone line and a high-speed Internet connection!

Q: How much does the training cost?
A: The all-inclusive, one-time fee per participant is $499. CEU credit is available for an additional $25. Registration and payment for CEUs must take place prior to beginning the training.

Q: What do I get for my investment?
A: This training is an investment in your CCR&R. You get almost 800 minutes of online/telephone training, one copy of the training Toolkit, access to an expert communications and marketing professional during training sessions and during your personal consultation, access to an email listserv, and unlimited access to support materials.

Q: Can we pay one registration fee, but purchase additional training Toolkits for staff?
A: No. Each registration fee includes only one Toolkit.

Q: Can I reproduce the materials from the training program?
A: The training materials will all be copyrighted. Copies can be made for use within an agency, but cannot be broadly distributed.

Q: If I don’t attend all training sessions, will I be refunded a portion of the fee?
A: No.

Q: Is the training available to non-members?
A: No, it is available only to members.

Q: Is the training available to agencies or individual members?
A: Registration fees will pertain to agencies, and an unlimited number of staff from each registered agency can participate. Although you may have several people listen to the training sessions at one time, only one Toolkit will be provided per registration fee, and the information in the Toolkit is copyrighted by NACCRRA and may not be duplicated widely.

Q: How many people can participate from my office? Can others in my state join me once a month?
A: Each registered agency may use only one telephone line (and will receive only one Toolkit) to participate in the online trainings. Although unlimited participation within a single agency is allowed, sharing between agencies is not.

Q: How many CEUs can I earn by taking this training?
A: You can earn 15 CEUs by participating in the webinar training. Register for CEUs, and upon completion of the training, you will receive a certificate verifying your attendance and successful completion of learning activities. CEU credit is available for an additional $25.

Q: When will the trainings be held?
A: The tentative schedule for the trainings is set for the first Thursday of each month from 3:00 until 4:30 PM Eastern Time beginning in June of 2008. Should we have an overwhelming number of participants register for the training, we will open an additional session which will take place on the first Tuesday of each month from 2:00 – 3:30 PM Eastern Time beginning in June as well. The training will run from June through December.

Q: How can I access the starter kit and supporting materials?
A: On a password-protected participants-only website.

Q: How do I register or find out more information?
A: For additional details about the training program or to find out how to register, contact Kendra Beasley at Kendra.Beasley@naccrra.org or (703) 341-4148.
